When I finished reading the book Yarn Bombing, I knew I wanted to try some bombing myself. I was intrigued by the artists in the book, and thought how much fun it would be to leave crochet surprises in random places.
Many of the artists in the book are incognito and use assumed names. I considered that for a bit, then decided it would be too hard to conceal my Yarn Bombing endeavors. I decided to start a blog dedicated to my Yarn Bombings, and thought about what I would most like my work to be aligned with.
Jesus was the first to come to mind. What if I could spread His love and tell His story by using the soft, cushiony chaos of Yarn Bombs? How could I mix the cross with crochet? And that's how the name of this blog was born: cross-chet or Crosschet.
I want to spread God's word in unexpected places. My plan is to attach His word to my art and hope that it inspires someone to trust His love a little more.
After all, God is soft and cushiony; unexpected order in the midst of chaos. He's my home. A soft place to land.
